- Brig. Gen. (Retd) Prof. Habibur Rahman Kamal, ndc, psc is Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering and Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Sonargaon University, Panthapath, Dhaka, a position he has held since 1 March 2023. He holds a PhD in Development Management from Preston University, California, USA, an MSc in Resource Planning and Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, USA, an MSc in Civil Engineering from BUET, and a Masters of Strategy and Development Science from Bangladesh University of Professionals, alongside a BSc in Civil Engineering from CUET.
Over a career spanning academia, public administration and military engineering, he has served as Dean, Head of the Civil Engineering Department and Acting Commandant at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), as the founding Registrar of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), as Chairman of the Khulna Development Authority, and as Chief Engineer (Operations) with the United Nations mission in East Timor. He has also taught at North South University as a Professorial Fellow. His teaching and research interests cover structural engineering, concrete and construction materials, and construction engineering and management.
